Changes in phase composition during production process with quartz sand as main silica source, starting with raw materials mixture till final product state (recipe: cement - lime - quartz sand - anhydrite).
It is not essential to use sulphates like anhydrite or gypsum as recipe components, but without, the product quality concerning strength and drying shrinkage is lower. The intermediate phases, ettringite and hydroxylellestadite, are of some importance in this case.
